CLOWNSEJD combines clown/mask-technique with old norse divination-technique - so called sejd - to explore new ways of seeking answers to existential questions and provide comfort, joy and creative madness.
The performance is built around the questions put by the audience/questioners and is completely improvised.
Through humor and ceremonial singing and with the clown's naive outlook on the world, Rebecka Cardoso seeks to create a space for collective processing of grief, worry and longing.

CLOWNSEJD is created by Rebecka Cardoso, actor, director and play-wright with over twenty years in professional theatre.. Rebecka is also a mystic, with spiritual, ritual spaces as one of her biggest interests.
In CLOWNSEJD, she works with a Moderator/Anchor, who can differ from each performance. In Gothenburg Fringe Festival she is joined by Embla Ekström.

CLOWNSEJD was rewarded the "Peoples Choice Award" and was nominated in the category "Best innovation in performance" at Stockholm Fringe Festival 2024.

Please note: CLOWNSEJD is completely improvised and is based on interaction with the audience/questioners. In this divination/séance, forces are set in motion that cannot always be controlled, and the audience/questioners take full responsibility for the questions they ask and the interpretation of the possible answers. Minimun age is 16 years.
