Among our plethora of shows at Gothenburg Fringe 2025, it’s safe to say that there is something in the programme for everybody, including young Fringe fans and families!
Here are five shows that adults and kids alike can enjoy at this year’s festival, featuring faux fitness gurus, reimagined classic tales, comedy, joyous circus and a visually enchanting dance-theatre journey.
Grimm’s Fairer Tales
by Stories Alive (England) at GEST on 7 September
With Wolves, Witches and Goblins, the story unfolds as the audience is invited to become part of the drama. The Brothers Grimm collected their classic tales over 200 years ago. Today, interactive storyteller Eden Ballantyne has reimagined them for a contemporary audience.
Maybe Little Red Riding Hood won’t have to wait for the woodcutter to save her? There may be a house of gingerbread, but what else could be waiting in the woods?
With the audience taking on the roles of all the major characters, no two shows will be the same!

Fruitopia
by Zinnia Oberski (Scotland/Netherlands) at 2Lång on 30 August
Fruitopia explores the comedy potential of fruit on stage in a ceremonial ecstasy of fruit indulgence.
How many fruits is it possible to pick up at once? What happens if you stand on an orange? And what is the most effective way to destroy a pineapple? Questions like these, and others equally fundamental to the human experience are answered in this juicy, flashy, trashy, starburst candy explosion of a show.
A clown piece with circus elements, FRUITOPIA blends circus technique with physical theatre. It opens in a naive, joyful world full of challenge and bewilderment and descends into fruit-induced mania and absurdist transformation.
Dear Adult
by Wency Lam (Hong Kong/England) at Dice Theater on 6 and 7 September

Blank Maps
by ilMilione
Thick morning fog, a market tent and a map of maps. And three questions. Who are we? Where are we? Where do we come from? From this uncertainty was born Blank maps, a journey out of time to tell the story of two old friends in search of one thing: something very precious that they both lost along the way.
Ponente and Levante meet in a deserted market. They return from a long trip, perhaps a journey that has lasted for years. The place is deserted, as if before a storm. None of the other stalls have been set up and no customers appear to be coming to meet them. They look at each other like lifelong friends, even if something doesn’t add up. They have seen markets in every corner of the globe… They bring with winds that have always blown everywhere and so they have crossed the most modern cities and the most unusual caravanserais. The cities, the markets, the experiences they have had, have filled their suitcases and their eyes, but the meeting of their lives is about to give them the most beautiful story.
Performed in English on Sunday 31 Aug and Friday 5 Aug, performed in Italian on Monday 1 September.
