Tickets now on sale! Early-bird discount for newsletter subscribers

Ticket sales have begun for Gothenburg Fringe 2024, a 10-day celebration of alternative performing arts presenting over 150 performances from 30 August until 8 September.

Taking place in a variety of venues across the city, including unique and non-traditional locations, Gothenburg Fringe is a home for uncensored, cutting-edge performing arts that stimulate, educate and entertain.

2024 will be the festival’s ninth consecutive edition, with around 150 events taking place with theatre, dance, comedy, music, circus and spoken word among the disciplines presented at 10 venues around Gothenburg.

The majority of shows are available to book now with the remaining performances released in the coming days. Once again, newsletter subscribers have been offered an early-bird discount on selected tickets, which can be booked until Wednesday 17 July. Sign up for the newsletter here.

Among the headlines of this year’s festival are the new locations for our opening weekend. The Opening of Gothenburg Fringe 2024 takes place in the mystic but yet cozy Semaniareparken which a newly restored school garden outside the old birth house and next to the old Epidemic hospital, inspiring the theme: ‘Life journey’. Birth and death are certainties but what happens in between is fluid, improvised or abstract. Come join us on the exploration of what Fringe has to offer.

Eriksbergshallen is another new Gothenburg Fringe venue, hosting a top-notch programme on the opening weekend as well as an industry event on Tuesday 3 September at Quality 11 Theatre, presenting a mixture of circus acts and the multi-award-winning Storm Dunder, performing Welcome Home.

Immersive theatre is another strong point of this year’s festival with two shows taking place for just one audience member at a time.

Currently enjoying a sold-out run in London, The Manikins: A Work in Progress is a genuine treat for Gothenburg which you must seize while you can. The same can be said about You’re needy, sounds frustrating, a site-specific piece for one audience member about a woman’s retreat from everyday life in pursuit of peace, solitude and “wellness”.

Every show at Gothenburg Fringe 2024 will be featured on the website in the coming days with our artist drops, so check them out and get to planning for your celebration of the performing arts with us.
